• amelia 'ames' schmidt is 26 years old and lives in manhattan. she is an editor for ted.com and hopes to one day work her way up to content producer.
• she attended columbia majoring in art history and minoring in sociology. she worked as a local artist selling paintings and sculptors in various galleries, attending opening and becoming part of the art scene.
• began dating olivia her junior year of college. it was fresh and unexpected, her first and only relationship with a girl, but they fell into each other like two peas in a pod. the two challenged each other, experimented, and she got her start in writing thanks to her influence. they dated for four years.
• amelia has always had a small problem with drugs. it never consumed her but she couldn't shake the habit. after all, it was everywhere. she doesn't let it affect her professional life but her habits did lead to the demise of her relationship one year ago.
• she believes networking is the key to everything. she wouldn't have had her success as an artist if it weren't for it nor would she have gained her job at ted.com at the beginning of the year without it. she has a lot of contacts in the art and music world in the new york area and other cities as well and takes it upon herself to try and introduce those she sees with potential to the right people whenever she can.
